Document Review in Criminal Investigation

The FBI provided 52,795 documents for the Andrade criminal investigation. The case team needed to understand every concept in the data before a status conference, and linear review was not going to get them there. Lineal used Amplify™ Suite of Tools to break the universe into three reviewable groups: Multiple Document Families (969 documents), Single Document Families (35,961 documents), and Image File Types (15,865 documents). Textual Near Duplicate Identification covered 68% of the universe. Lineal Images handled the 30% that traditional analytics could not touch. The team categorized documents by content and relationship, built a clear picture of every concept in the data, and met the deadline.
