Lineal Appoints Former UBS eDiscovery Executive David Kern as General Manager, EMEA

New Leadership Accelerates Lineal’s Managed Services Growth Across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa

LONDON, UK – SEPTEMBER 9, 2026 – Lineal, a global managed services provider for eDiscovery and digital investigations, today announced that David Kern has joined the company as General Manager, EMEA. Kern will lead the growth of Lineal’s Managed Services business across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa as the company continues to expand its global presence.

Kern joins Lineal after more than 15 years at UBS in Zurich, most recently serving as Executive Director and Global Head of Processing & Review Management for eDiscovery. He led global operations supporting litigation, regulatory and internal investigations, and other complex legal matters across multiple jurisdictions.

Kern also brings a perspective particularly relevant to Lineal’s continued growth: he spent much of his career on the client side of these engagements, selecting and governing providers, managing complex transitions, and setting the standards against which eDiscovery services were measured.

During his time at UBS, Kern helped lead major operating-model and technology transitions, including the integration of UBS and Credit Suisse eDiscovery capabilities. He also established a nearshore delivery operation in Wroclaw, Poland, and helped develop the governance, quality controls, and operational standards supporting global eDiscovery delivery and the adoption of automation and AI.

Kern’s appointment builds on Lineal’s continued investment in its global leadership and Managed Services business. The company completed its first acquisition in August 2025, adding ProFile Discovery’s forensics, cyber, and trial support capabilities, and has since earned Relativity industry competencies in Financial Services and Life Sciences & Pharmaceuticals. Recent leadership additions also include Chief Information Officer Keith Zoellner and Vice President of Investigations and Regulatory Response Ilan Sherr.
